Additional afternoon session for OYAP teachers
  • Making School to Career work in your school
  • OnSorts & STC updates
  • Includes a light lunch
  • In-service for OYAP teachers
STC Assemblies and Fairs Begins Oct. 9
Ends Nov. 16
  • Each school will book the assembly/display into their school during this time period.
  • Both the assembly and display must take place at the same time.
  • Target audience is grade 10, grade 11, and interested Grade 12 students
  • The assembly is half a period in length.(35 minutes) (need 6 tables for 6 boards that will be put up)
  • Coop from the school should set up a board(s) to promote their program

  • These regional evenings are for all interested parents and students to explain pathways.  There will then be breakout groups where parents can find out more (can go to 2 group meetings if they wish)
  • Coop at the school we are having the presentation at should set up a board explaining program

Application Interviews and Acceptances
Full day interviews Wed., December 12
  • Most students are accepted during these interview days
Interviews and/or site visits First interview date:
Wed. Dec. 12.
After Dec. 12, check OnSorts for additional dates and times
  • Early applicants are given priority in the acceptance process
Option Selection and Staffing
Acceptance letters and proposed timetables End of January
  • Important that acceptance list on Onsorts is accurate
  • Students will know if they are accepted prior to option sheet completion
Careers Unlimited TBD
  • Organized by HIEC
Staffing Mar. 1
  • Preliminary count based on option sheet selection
Reconciliation Friday before March Break
  • All selected students have completed option sheets process
  • Names reconciled with the list on CHATT
  • Includes any additional credits the student will be taking at the receiving school
  • Additional credits posted on CHATT
  • Receiving school STC Contact gives reconciliation report including additional credits for students coming to their school
Women as Career Coaches TBD
