Women As Career Coaches

Young women need access to adult role models who are willing to share their career pathways and encourage the goals and dreams of youth. To meet this need, the Halton Industry Education Council is pleased to present the annual Women as Career Coaches event.
Women as Career Coaches (WACC) is an event designed to involve a variety of women from different occupational pathways to encourage and help young women become better informed about the variety of options available to them in the world of work. During the dinner event, female mentors representing all career sectors act as career coaches to empower young women to take control of their futures.

This intergenerational event provides a vital link between industry, education and community to benefit young women. It is an opportunity for younger women to interact with women who have experienced a variety of exciting and interesting careers. Attendees have the opportunity to speak with female representatives from politics, the skilled trades, government, business, science & technology, and to learn more about the numerous career pathways available to them. Business/industry women act as "mentors" and provide "spotlight" features over the course of the evening.

Women as Career Coaches 2007 will take place March 28 at the Burlington Convention Centre. For more information, please contact Loredana Aiello at 905-634-2575 x22 or laiello@hiec.on.ca.
